In simplest terms, there are 2 types of stroke, a bleed on the brain (haemorrhagic) or a lack of /absence of blood supply to an area of the brain (ischaemic). Our carotid artery ultrasound scan looks for narrowings or blockages in the major arteries (carotid and vertebral arteries) that supply the brain. The scan is carried out in the neck area up to your jaw line. Your scan fee will include a report and schematic of the ultrasound findings. Consultation charges with our Clinical Scientist are deducted from the cost of your scan, should a scan be necessary.
